Pool Building Day 6 – Stump Removal is not so graceful

As graceful as the tree cutting was yesterday – it’s more about brute force. The stumps themselves were a thing of beauty. So complicated and intricate.

Then came the “test” hole.  The test hole wa s was to see if we were going to hit water which here in Florida is not a hard thing to do. (hence our lack of basements) But they went down to about the same depth of the pool and were very excited to find signs of clay (red stuff) mixed in with our sandy soil. Clay evidently is an indicator that you won’t find much water.

Oddly enough afterwards they filled up all the holes and leveled it out nice and smooth for the next step which will come on Monday.
